Nearly three months after its release, Avatar’s buzz and ticket sales are finally starting to die down -- but that may be short-lived.

James Cameron and Fox are discussing a deal that would see the box office king rereleased this summer, mostly in 3-D theaters, with scenes that didn’t make it into the original theatrical version, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cameron is said to have roughly 10-12 minutes of never-before-seen footage that he could quickly prep for the rerelease -- which, uncoincidentally, would bring Avatar’s running time up to around 170 minutes, the maximum length an IMAX movie can be.
